What is Mozambique ETA?
Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) is a mandatory online registration before departure. It was introduced by the National Immigration Service of Mozambique with the aim of strengthening border controls, increasing security and streamlining the process of entering the country. Although it is not a visa application, without an approved ETA, entry will be denied even to citizens of visa-free countries.
The application for an ETA to Mozambique should be submitted no later than 48 hours before travel on the official website: www.evisa.gov.mz.
How to apply for an ETA to Mozambique?
To successfully apply for a Mozambique ETA, you need to:
- Have a valid passport (at least 6 months before expiration).
- Fill out a questionnaire with personal and passport details.
- Provide information about the trip (dates, purpose, accommodation).
- Wait for an electronic confirmation (usually a few minutes).
Mandatory fee upon arrival in Mozambique
Upon arrival, travelers must pay an administrative fee of 650 MZN (approximately 9 euros or 10 US dollars). Payment can be made in local or foreign currency. Failure to pay this fee may result in refusal of entry.
How long is a Mozambique ETA valid for?
The ETA is valid for 60 days from the date of issue and allows entry for up to 30 days with the possibility of extension for up to 30 more days.
